Where Big Fish is a free, real-time multiplayer fishing game you play right in your browser — no download or install. Cast your line into a lake, river, or the sea, win a Stardew-style reel minigame, and reel in fish of every rarity. Fill your fish collection and climb a live leaderboard alongside other players fishing the same waters.

How to play

1. Enter a name, pick a character, and press Play to join a lake.
2. Walk to a lake, river, or sea shore with WASD or the arrow keys.
3. Hold the mouse to charge power, then release to cast toward the cursor.
4. When a fish bites, the reel minigame opens — hold the mouse to lift the green catch zone and keep the moving fish inside it.
5. Keep the fish in the zone to fill the progress bar and land it. Rarer and heavier fish score more points and push you up the leaderboard.

Fish you can catch

There are 16 species across four rarity tiers. Points shown are the base catch value; heavier fish earn bonus points.

• Common: Minnow (40), Silver Carp (50), Catfish (70), Butterfish (100).
• Uncommon: Tilapia (140), Snakehead (180), Mackerel (250).
• Rare: Koi (400), Sad Blobfish (450), Giant Barb (550), Bluefin Tuna (800).
• Legendary: Golden Arowana (1,500), Baby Shark (2,600).
• Quirky finds: an Old Boot, some Soggy Bread, and the legendary Vicent's Wallet.

Where to fish

The world has several fishing spots, each with its own fish: Village Pond, Mirror Lake, Serpent Lake, Lotus Marsh, Ice Bay, Dragon Lake, the Han River, and the East Sea. Ocean species — Butterfish, Mackerel, Bluefin Tuna, and Baby Shark — are found only in the East Sea, so explore different waters to complete your collection.
